Shiny Hair

I have long dark brown hair and I love wearing black and brown. This poses a problem when I find my hair disappearing into my outfit or the background.

Jennifer Connelly has a similar situation. Thanks to Allure’s Daily Beauty Reporter, Jessica Matlin, I found these helpful tips for making dark hair appear shinier.

Caught in the flashbulbs outside of Letterman’s studio, Jennifer Connelly’s hair looked so glossy, I swear I saw a tourist’s reflection in it.

Want your hair looking as insanely shiny (and healthy) as Jennifer’s? Invest in a good spray. When used with restraint–specifically, sprayed only on the bottom half your hair and then combed through–these three will give you the shine, without the grease.

Bumble and bumble Shine. If you think the gold packaging is blingy, just wait till you see your hair. $34.

Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine Hair Spray. A product that adds shine and hold and isn?t a waxy mess? It?s possible. And cheap. $4.49.

Frederic Fekkai Spray On Hair Crystals. Want the hard stuff? Try this aerosol mist swirling with diamond and pearl particles in either Bronze, Copper, or Champage (your choice). $18.50.

Use one of these, and don’t be surprised if the woman on the subway starts looking in your hair to apply her lipstick.

Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown counters all over the country are offering free holiday makeup lessons.

Print this out and bring it with you, or just show up at any Bobbi Brown counter and they’ll add a little sparkle to your holiday look.

Beauty Post

I am obsessed with beauty products. I have tried blogging about them in the past, but I find that if I spread myself too thin blog-wise, everything suffers. So I am going to bring my clean little secret (get it? clean instead of dirty little secret…because I’m talking about skin cleansers…forget it!) out into my Daily Moxie posts.

Phew! I feel better already.

Ok, here are a few things I am loving.

Nars Orgasm blush. Looks good on everyone! Seriously! I tend to blush very easily and typically don’t even like to apply blush, but this one has just enough peachy-pink tones in it and a little bit of sparkle to work with any complexion!

I bought a number of Chanel products a few months ago and I can’t tell you how glamorous and decadent I felt using these products! The name just says it all…and they smell great too!

Speaking of luxury, is there a woman alive who doesn’t desire the La Mer products? Is it the exorbitant price tag? The knowledge that some of the most successful women in the world adore these products? I’m not sure what it is, but I do know that there is something very exciting in seeing these pale green products adorning my sink.

Ah Kiehls, how you seduce me with your free samples. I have always loved you and have never found my cabinets to be lacking in housing your products. At any given time I will have at least three Kiehls products in circulation.

Basically I want to know what to use to make my skin look as flawless as Joanna Garcia’s. (She is the actress who plays Megan on the CW’s Privileged…a show that I feel guilty about ADORING!)

Pink Christmas Cards

I think PINK is completely unappreciated during the holidays!

You can find these ADORABLE cards at Katie Sue Crafts.

Christmas Shopping

Well, I am hitting the malls on this cold and gray Saturday. I know it is a daring feat, and one that may prove to be very stressful. That is why I am dressed in pink, with hearts and a ribbon in my hair. If anyone tries to ruin my holiday spirit, they will regret it! Be warned!

No words needed. Just pure happiness captured in a picture.

Hotel Love

I am always impressed with the various styling techniques found in hotels. One of my all time favorites is the small boutique hotel, XV Beacon, in Boston’s Beacon Hill. I love this hotel for many reasons. One being that it completely captures the beauty of contemporary design and modern luxury with a timeless classic feel.

Rich, dark wood mixed with clear, beautiful white. I just love the stark yet welcoming quality of this look. I love being inspired by design, even if it is not my own personal style, there is always something you can learn from a great design.

I also love this hotel because it is where I got engaged.

Christmas List

I love this idea! I pulled it from The Unicorn Diaries (via Decor8) and I think it is such a whimsical and beautiful (and also helpful!) way to make a Christmas (or any kind of gift) list! Then you can keep it for years and look back at what style was inspiring you at a given time. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.
